As the composer I enjoyed letting the music find its own space. 11 layers recorded in real time allowed an emotional feedback to build an intensity of it's own without pre-planning. Although it's technically an ambient recording the reality is more a therapeutic journey in exercising strong emotion than is typical for ambient recordings. I'm proud of the raw honesty that comes through here and hope that communicates to other listeners.

Our world is built arround telling you what to think, enforcing conformity and discouraging genuine self-expression while pretending the opposite. 'Be unique through being the same' is a fairly constant marketing strategy.
My Pointless Beauty project is about providing experiences to stimulate introspection. All the things made are simply because I like them. I have a personal meditative journey in making them but I take great delight in people telling me their own stories as they interact with the things I've made. They are not the same as mine but created from their own emotional responses. That, to me, is the joy of instrumental music and abstract images. They are not definite or certain and therefore freely open to interpretation. Commercially it's far from sensible or logical to produce these things but psychologically and emotionally I feel it's invaluable and think you will too.
"Spiritual sustenance in these somewhat dispiriting times."
